Hangers The hanger enables the grapple to swing in two directions which reduces stress. Finding a hanger for a given boom can be problematic, as there are many different widths, and hole dimentions used on booms on which a rotator is put. For this reason, a half hanger can be a good solution. A half hanger provides the portion of the hanger which connects to the rotator (as shown below). The ears that connect to the boom should be fabricated and welded onto the half hanger, allowing the user to make "ears" which will fit their boom. The width of the half hanger, as shown in the picture to the right, is correct for the R45 rotator. The pin size is correct for the R3 as well. If this hanger is to be used on a R3 Rotator, some method of "shimming" should be used to fill this extra space.
Here are examples of some hangers we stock. Due to the many varied boom widths of machinery that use grapples and rotators, it is unlikely that you will find a hanger for your application "off of the shelf" Your best bet will likely be to either fabricate a whole hanger, or using the half hanger as a base, fabricate the upper part of a half hanger.
A hanger enables the grapple to swing two ways. Below are some examples of hangers. The top end of the hanger is fastened to the loader's boom, and the bottom to the rotator.
